No sweat. The fix was actually pretty easy. It was the decision as to whether or not
it was wise to alter the install code that was the hard part. I have altered probably
4 other core spectra files to get around similar problems since this one cropped up.
I don't know what the scoop is on bug fixes, documentation, etc. I do know that it's
damned annoying that MM took down spectrasource before a suitable replacement (or ANY
replacement for that matter) was in place. I'm finding myself to be more and more
screwed by suddenly not having access to that stuff anymore (especially the hotfixes).
Hey MM... if you're listening... could we please have that stuff back? I didn't
expect you to keep spectra alive forever, but when you said "open source" I didn't
think that would mean "vanished-off-the-face-of-the-earth source".
Usually I wouldn't complain so much... it's just that they happened to pick the same
time to do this that I'm working on my first (and hopefully last) 4.5/1.5.1 to
MX/1.5.2 upgrade. Talk about rotten timing!
Still an un-wavering Macromedia fanatic,
-Michael
