This probably will not be too much help, but we just upgraded from Spectra 1.5.1 with CF5 to Spectra 1.5.2 and CFMX. The boxes we upgraded to are faster than the previous boxes, and for normal pages the site is very fast -- faster than before. However, things like pulling the user list are still slow and awkward, but I guess that is the nature of Spectra.
