Hi,

On this topic, I'd recommend checking out another open source system -
infoglue.org.

I've been developing in ColdFusion since 1996, and used Spectra from
2000-2003 until I main did decommisioning efforts.

Now, the InfoGlue system caught my eye as a high object oriented one
with a pretty unique way of "gluing" content together from various
content repositories, e.g. upload graphics to a template and fetch
that graphics via Velocity, etc etc. Multilingual support is also
impressive.

It is based on Java and uses Apache Jakarta technologies. For any
seasoned CFMX developer the learning curve is not that big, as long as
you've been using the CFSCRIPT tag a bit - and maybe had a sniff at
MachII or other MVC frameworks.

Even if it's not your cup of tea for environmental reasons I recommend
checking it out.

No, I haven't quit ColdFusion, far from that - but it doesn't hurt to
add tools to your toolbox. Apache and other OSS just keep getting
better.

Cheers,
Jrgen
