La « force » de l« art » : puissance ou pouvoir ?

Parce quon nous dit que la « force » de l«art » est plus quune exposition,
un « événement », on peut se demander quel sens a un titre si affirmatif et si
volontariste. De quelle «force» sagit-il ? Et de quel «art» ? Que cherche-t-on
à mettre en avant ? :
- une puissance subversive de lart qui lui garantirait toujours, même dans
un contexte politique très chargé, une certaine liberté?
- une position qui chercherait à masquer un cynisme qui ne croit plus du
tout à lart, pour lequel lart naurait plus comme fonction que celle de
soutenir un pouvoir hypocrite et profondément désengagé, notamment auprès des
artistes ?

Since it seems that the force of art is more than a mere exhibition, that
its an event, one may well question the meaning of such an assertive title.
Surely the events art status is not at issue. So exactly what sort of force
are we talking about? And what sort of art? What agenda is revealed by this
imperious title
- Arts subversive potential, which, even in a heavily charged political
context, would guarantee it certain freedoms?
- A formula seeking to mask an all out cynicism that no longer believes in
art at all, for which arts only remaining function is to shore up the
powers-that-be in all their hypocrisy and sterility, particularly with regard
to artists?
