ART, LIFE AND CONFUSION 47th October Salon, Belgrade
29 September - November 5, 2006 curator: René Block The Festival is organized in different museums, galleries and alternative spaces all over the city of Belgrade. (SEE BELOW: FESTIVAL SCENES) It is the oldest representative event in the domain of visual arts in Serbia and was transformed into an international author exhibition of contemporary art two years ago. Thanks to the concept change of the Salon, the public has been given a chance to see numerous and important names from the international art and curatorial scenes and to get a better insight into the current art production on a wider scale. The international character of this event has also made a direct participation of Serbian art scene in the world art production possible. More than 100 local and foreign artists selected by René Block and his assistants will be presented at the exhibition. (SEE BELOW: LIST OF ARTISTS) Around 30 artists from different countries around the world will come to Belgrade. They will be involved in a direct exchange of ideas with 30 local artists. A bilingual catalogue with textual interpretations of the project written by the Art Director of the Salon and his assistants will be published for the purpose of this exhibition. The Assembly of the City of Belgrade is the founder and the patron of the October Salon. It is organized by the Belgrade Cultural Centre. www.oktobarskisalon.org -------------------------- LIST OF ARTISTS ALBANIA: Edi Hila AUSTRALIA: Jirrawun Girls, Rosemary Laing, Robert MacPherson, Tim Silver AUSTRIA: Gerhard Rühm, Peter Weibel BOSNIA & HERZEGOVIN: Maja Bajevic, Braco Dimitrijevic BULGARIA: Pravdoliub Ivanov, Milen Miltchev, Nedko Solakov CHINA: Yufen Qin CROATIA: David Maljkovic, Vlado Martek, Mladen Stilinovic DENMARK: Peter Land, Bjørn Nørgaard EGYPT: Wael Shawky ESTLAND: Jaan Toomik FINNLAND: Elina Brotherus, Tellervo Kalleinen, Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen, Marja Kanervo, Aino Kannisto, Sanna Kannisto, Raakel Kuukka, Aurora Reinhard, Jari Silomäki, Anu Tuominen, Salla Tykkä, Roi Vaara FRANCE: Sophie Calle GERMANY: Christiane Baumgartner, Joseph Beuys, Claus Böhmler, KP Brehmer, Birgit Brenner, Asta Gröting, Gabriele Jerke, Jens Kloppmann, Susanne Kutter, Olaf Metzel GREAT BRITAIN: Sam Taylor-Wood HUNGARY: Endre Tot ICELAND: Finnbogi Pétursson IRAQ: Adel Abidin ITALY: Paolo Canevari, Mario Rizzi KOREA: Nam June Paik, Sooja-Kim KOSOVO: Jakup Ferri LEBANON: Jalal Toufic MACEDONIA: Oliver Musovik MONTENEGRO: Jelena Tomašević NORWAY: Matias Faldbakken, Toril Goksøyr & Camilla Martens, Kim Hiorthøy, Vibeke Tandberg POLAND: Jaroslav Kozlowski ROMANIA: Mircea Cantor, Alexandra Croitoru, Ion Grigorescu, Dan Perjovschi RUSSIA: Victor Alimpiev, Olga Chernysheva SERBIA: Ana Adamovic, Rados Antonijevic, Srdjan Arsic, Jovan Cekic, Aladin Bugi Corovic, Alaksandar Dimitirijevic, Vojislav Klacar, Natasa Kokic, Ana Martinovic, Mihael Milunovic, Zoran Naskovski, Vukasin Nedeljkovic, Milan Nesic, Tatjana Nesovic, Vladimir Nikolic, Dragan Papic, Talent Factory / Vladimir Peric, Nina & Miodrag Stankovic, Rasa Todosijevic, Milica Tomic, Vera Vecanski, Rados Vujaklija SLOVAKIA: Dorota Kenderová SOUTH AFRICA: Candice Breitz SPAIN: Joan Brossa, Carles Santos SWEDEN: Jacob Dahlgren, Elis Eriksson, Felix Gmelin, Année Olofsson TURKEY: Hüseyin Alptekin, Halil Altindere, Gülsün Karamustafa, Aydan Murtezaoglu, Bülent Şangar, Nasan Tur USA: Lucas Ajemian, Allan Kaprow, Christian Marclay, Emmett Williams FESIVAL SCENES: Museum of 25th May - Museum of the History of Yugoslavia, Botićeva Art 6 Nolit - Warehouse of publishing house, Kraljevića Marka 4 Belgrade Cultural Center, Knez Mihailova 6 - Art Gallery - Gallery Artget, Trg Republike 5/I - Cinema Hall of BCC, Kolarčeva 6 Gallery of the Institute Cervantes, Čika Ljubina 19 Legacy House, Knez Mihailova 46 Public Bath Beograd, Cara Dušana 45 Gallery of Fine Arts Academy, Knez Mihailova 53 Art Pavillion Cvijeta Zuzorić, Mali Kalemegdan 1 (Mon – Fr, 10am to 8pm and Sat, 10am to 3pm) working hours: Tue – Sun, 12am to 8pm (except Art Pavillion) _____________________________________________________________________ Der WEB.DE SmartSurfer hilft bis zu 70% Ihrer Onlinekosten zu sparen! http://smartsurfer.web.de/?mc=100071&distributionid=000000000066 ______________________________________________ SPECTRE list for media culture in Deep Europe Info, archive and help: http://coredump.buug.de/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/spectre
