Art + New Media Martin-Gropius-Bau 28. Oct. 2007 to 14.Jan. 2008 Curator: Richard Castelli http://www.berlinerfestspiele.de/de/aktuell/festivals/11_gropiusbau/mgb_star t.php For the first time in Berlin an exhibition focused on media art is shown in the context of a museum. The exhibition From Spark to Pixel. Art + New Media, shown until the 14 January 2008, presents 21 artists from 12 countries. These striking installations combine experiences in the perception of time and space with a reinterpretation of the role and participatory potential of the observer. Immersive and interactive approaches feature frequently in the artists’ strategies. The key issue of the exhibition is the effort to concretise the immaterial in a spectacular way. Richard Castellis international collaboration with artists and media representatives made it possible to present a range of facets and developments of the current media art in the Martin-Gropius-Bau.
