In weniger als zwei Wochen feiert das Kasseler
Dokumentarfilm- und Videofest die Eröffnung
seiner 27. Ausgabe. Der ausführliche Katalog zum
Festival ist erhältlich und kann auch unter

als pdf herunter geladen werden. Auf 140 Seiten
informiert der Katalog über das diesjährige
Programm, welches ab sofort sukzessive auch
online zur Verfügung gestellt wird.
267 kurze und lange Dokumentarfilme aus 33
Ländern kommen vom 9. bis 14. November zur
Aufführung, von denen 120 ihre Premiere in Kassel
feiern. Die Ausstellung Monitoring präsentiert 14
aktuelle Positionen der Medienkunst, die
Eröffnung findet am 10. November um 19 Uhr im
Kasseler Kunstverein statt.
In unmittelbarer Nähe zur Ausstellung wird
erstmals auch das DokfestForum in der Kunsthalle
Fridericianum eingerichtet, das in einer Vielzahl
von Veranstaltungen die Schnittstelle zwischen
Film und Kunst beleuchtet und ein
Vermittlungsprogramm zu Monitoring und den
Ausstellungen in der Kunsthalle Fridericianum
anbietet. Bei Kaffee, Kuchen, Suppe und WLAN
können sich Besucher/innen in anregender
Atmosphäre austauschen. Für Fachbesucher/innen
besteht zudem die Möglichkeit, einen Großteil des
Festivalprogramms individuell zu sichten.
Die Fachtagung interfiction nimmt mobile Gadgets
als Spiel- und Werkzeug in den Blick und in die

Und die Festivalnächte gehören den audiovisuellen
Performances und den Partys in der DokfestLounge
in der Nachrichtenmeisterei hinter dem Südflügel
(KulturBahnhof).
In Kooperation mit der hessischen Film- und
Medienakademie (hFMA) entstehen darüber hinaus
zwei neue Programmformate, die gezielt den
hessischen Filmnachwuchs adressieren:
Im Rahmen der Vortragsreihe Profis Plaudern
Praxis vermitteln Experten aus der Film- und
Fernsehbranche Wissenswertes über die Produktion
und Verwertung von (Kurz-)Filmen. Ohne
Voranmeldung, Eintritt frei.
Der 1. Hessische Hochschulfilmtag
(<http://www.hhft.info>www.hhft.info) bietet
Studierenden der Hochschulen in Darmstadt,
Kassel, Offenbach und Wiesbaden die Chance, ihre
besten Arbeiten vor einem Fachpublikum zu
präsentieren und zu pitchen.
Zudem geht das filmpädagogische Begleitprogramm
junges dokfest - Dokumentarfilm sehen und
verstehen, das in Kooperation mit der LPR Hessen
veranstaltet wird, in die zweite Runde. Hier
werden Workshops und Screenings für Schüler/innen
der 7. bis 13. Klassse angeboten.
Um die drei mit insgesamt 10.000 Euro dotierten
Geldpreise sowie das A38-Produktions-Stipendium
konkurrieren 74 Arbeiten aus dem Festivalprogramm.
Mehr als 200 Filmemacher/innen und Künstler/innen
werden zur Präsentation und Diskussion ihrer
Arbeiten in Kassel erwartet.
Bis zum 1. November 2010 können sich
Fachbesucher/innen und Pressevertreter/innen noch
für das Festival akkreditieren. Das Formular kann

The 27th Kassel Documentary Film and Video
Festival will open its gates in less than two
weeks. The detailed festival catalog is now
available and can also be downloaded as a pdf on

The program will be made available online over
the next few days.
267 international short and feature length films
from 33 different countries will be presented
from November 9 to 14, 120 of which will have
their premiere in Kassel. 14 media installations
will be shown at the exhibition Monitoring. The
opening will take place on November 10, 7pm at
the Kasseler Kunstverein.
The first DokfestForum at the Kunsthalle
Fridericianum can be located at the intersection
of film and art. The program features lectures,
panel discussions as well as an introduction to
Monitoring and the exhibitions at the Kunsthalle
Fridericianum.
This year's interfiction symposium invites with
lectures, presentations and workshop-sessions to
take a closer look at - and hands on - mobile
gadgets as toys and tools.
And the festival nights belong to the audiovisual
performance program and the parties in the
DokfestLounge.
The 27th Kassel Documentary Film and Video
Festival, together with the Hessen Film and Media
Academy present two new program formats that
specifically target young filmmakers from Hesse:
the lecture series "Profis Plaudern Praxis" and
the first Hessian University Film Day.
junges dokfest - Watch and Understand Documentary
Film will again offer an educational side program
for schools situated in the North of Hesse. In
workshops and screenings students from the 7th to
the 13th grade will have the opportunity to
engage intensively with documentary films suited
for young audiences.
74 nominated works compete for three awards
including prize money in the amount of 10,000 ¤
and the A38-Production Grant.
We expect more than 200 filmmakers and artists to
present and discuss their works with the audience
in person.
