I have started a petition about this to gauge interest and if
significant enough present to Artreview. If you are a member of the
Artreview community, use the site, read the magazine or feel that this
is yet another example of creative expression suppressed online then
please sign the petition here:
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/artreview-isp-censorship/
and forward to lists, family, friends, colleagues etc.

To those in charge at ArtReview.com,
This is to say I agree with Garrett Lynch's comments. I hope that
your investigation of the complaints will result in a robust defense
of the artists' rights to choose their modes of expression and that
unless the works involved are clearly racist or vicious in some
contagious way, that you protect your constituency.

Strike one more for creative expression online.
Not sure how many people here use the artreview community but
this may be of interest. This is poor form that they are
allowing an ISP provider to dictate what is acceptable art but
surprising that they did not predict issues like this with
community growth. There are many art friendly providers out
there and rather than censor a blossoming community they should
migrate to another ISP. Note that art review have provided no
means of replying to the message ether directly in their email or
on their website (no email contact is provided on the website).

A message to all members of artreview.com
<http://artreview.com>
Dear artreview.com <http://artreview.com> community,
ArtReview has recently received several complaints about content
on artreview.com <http://artreview.com> from our website
platform provider. The complaints concern nudity and related
content on members’ pages that breach conditions set by the
platform provider. They have been accompanied by demands that we
remove relevant content immediately; failure to do so could
result in the website being taken offline. As we investigate
these complaints over the next several days, we will likely be
removing some content from the website, including from members’
pages. We thank you for your understanding. We will get back to
you once we have looked into the situation in more detail.
