Hope 2014 has started well for everyone.
I'm getting in touch about two really interesting opportunities that

curators, and one for artists.

We're looking for a brilliant and inspiration person to lead the
artist programme at Lighthouse. The Artistic Director will play a
key role in building on the success and expansion of Lighthouse in
recent years, and will lead our work at the intersection of the art,
film and digital creative industry sectors. We welcome applications
from a wide range of candidates, from digital media
producers/directors and technology specialists, to senior
professionals within the arts and cultural sector.
This is a great opportunity to co-direct an ambitious, innovative and
influential arts organisation with a bright future.

* New Commission for Artists

Lighthouse, together with Brighton Festival (England's largest arts
festival), plus HOUSE Festival, are commissioning new work for this
year's festival in May 2014. We're looking for short Expressions of
Interest from artists for these new commissions. One of them will be
exhibited at Lighthouse during Brighton Festival. The others will be
site-specific work dotted around Brighton. The commissions will
respond to themes which occur within the festival - especially
notions of territory and place, cultural identity, displacement,
immigration and refuge.
The artists applying need to be based in London or the South East of
England, but that gives us a fairly broad catchment area.
I'd really like to hear from artists and creatives who are working
with science, technology or networks within their practice, so if
you, or anyone you know, would be interested in this, please do get
in touch.
