Pre-pandemische openingsavond van het IMPAKT Festival 2019.
** IMPAKT Festival 2020: Zero Footprint
------------------------------------------------------------
Na maanden van fysieke afstand, online brainstormsessies, voorschriften en
protocollen zetten we voorzichtige stappen richting het aankomende IMPAKT
Festival. We weten niet hoe de wereld eruit zal zien in "het nieuwe normaal",
maar we kunnen wel nadenken over naar wat voor soort wereld we willen
terugkeren. Vanuit de urgentie van de wereldwijde klimaatcrisis onderzoekt het
IMPAKT Festival 2020: Zero Footprint hoe technologie bijdraagt aan de
klimaatcrisis, welke mogelijkheden technologie kan bieden om de crisis te keren
en hoe we kunnen streven naar duurzame ontwikkeling, zonder het belang van
zorg, solidariteit, speelsheid en experiment te verliezen. Binnenkort meer!
** Open Call for Works voor het IMPAKT Channel
------------------------------------------------------------
Nu veel tentoonstellingen gesloten zijn vanwege de maatregelen rondom het
coronavirus hebben kunstenaars minder mogelijkheden hun werk te vertonen en
heeft het kunstminnende publiek geen kans het te bekijken. IMPAKT wil graag
haar online platform voor kunstenaars beschikbaar stellen en met deze Open Call
for Works kunstenaars uitnodigen om videowerken in te sturen die bij selectie,
en tegen een vergoeding, een maand online gepresenteerd worden op het IMPAKT
Channel (https://impakt.nl/channel/) .

** IMPAKT Channel: Soft Machines
------------------------------------------------------------
In tijden van fysieke afstand zijn sociale connecties en empathie des te
belangrijker geworden. De werken in het Soft Machines Channel-programma
onderzoeken de samenkomst van emotie en machine en benaderen het concept
empathie in zowel vorm als in inhoud. In de verschillende werken komt naar
voren hoe technologie de ethische en emotionele lasten van mensen overneemt en
hoe onze eigen emotionele wereld wordt hervormd door de eisen van technologie.
Soft Machines bevat werken van Jon Rafman, Metahaven, Wojciech Bąkowski, Daniel
Cockburn, John Butler, Benjamin Nuel en Feiko Beckers.

IMPAKT Festival 2020: Zero Footprint
After months of physical distance, online brainstorming sessions, prescriptions
and protocols, we carefully proceed with the preparations for the upcoming
IMPAKT Festival. We don't know what the world will look like in "the new
normal", but we can already think about what kind of world we want to return
to. From the urgency of the global climate crisis, the IMPAKT Festival 2020:
Zero Footprint examines how technology contributes to the climate crisis, what
opportunities technology can offer to reverse the crisis and how we can strive
for sustainable development, without losing the importance of care, solidarity,
playfulness and experiment. More soon!
Open Call for Works for the IMPAKT Channel
Now that many exhibitions are closed due to the measures taken to prevent the
spread of the of the coronavirus, artists have fewer opportunities to display
their work and the art-loving public has no chance to view it. IMPAKT would
like to make its online platform available to artists and with this Open Call
for Works invite artists to submit video works that will be presented online,
upon selection and for a fee, for a month on the ** IMPAKT Channel

IMPAKT Channel: Soft Machines
In times of physical distancing, social connections and empathy have become all
the more important.
The works in the Soft Machines Channel programme explore the intersection of
affect and machines, taking the concept of empathy as both its content and
form. In the programme, technology adopts the ethical and emotional burdens of
humans and our own emotional world is reshaped by the demands of technology.
