Thierry Fournier ÓRGANON Solo show Université Paul Valéry, Montpellier (FR) September 18 to October 23, 2020 Opening Thursday Sept 17th, 6-9pm
Órganon is a series of drawings created by Thierry Fournier on iPad, printed on large flexible pvc surfaces and installed in situ on the campus of the University Paul Valéry in Montpellier. Produced on scales ranging from a few centimetres to several meters, sometimes suspended in public spaces, in trees, sometimes on the ground, on walls or on objects, these drawings explore a vocabulary of body fragments of unknown origins. Their creation on a shelf uses tools derived from analogical mediums (pencil, airbrush, oil or wash forms) transformed and hybridized by digital processes: the medium and the support chosen are in line with the very stakes of the project. In ancient Greek, the word ‘órganon' designates an organ, a tool, an instrument or a logical sum, like that of Aristotle. It designates here a set of entities with ambiguous and multiple corporealities, human or artificial body, animal or alien, descriptions or traces that would initiate a proliferation in the public space. https://www.thierryfournier.net/organon-en <https://www.thierryfournier.net/organon-en>
