Right at the beginning of the new year 2021, the Experimental Radio of
the Bauhaus-University Weimar is pleased to come up with a real bang.
After the end of the first Radio Art Residency in Halle, which the
Goethe-Institute established there together with Radio Corax in the last
three years (https://www.radioart-residency.net), the successful
scholarship program can now be restarted. As a cooperation between the
Goethe-Institute, Bauhaus University and the Franz Liszt Academy of
Music, the Radio Art Residency will be relaunched in Weimar in 2021.
Twice a year, the residency offers a three-month stay in Weimar for
artists from non-German-speaking countries. During their stay, the
fellows are invited to explore the boundaries of sound and radio art and
to transcend them in interdisciplinary constellations, to be inspired by
the intercultural dialogue with artists, scientists and students of
Bauhaus-University and the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt, as well as
by the Cultural and Classic City of Weimar.
Through the cooperation with Deutschlandfunk Kultur in Berlin, which
offers a regular sound art broadcasting station, the Thuringian State
Media Authority and the Weimar exhibition opportunities in the ACC
Gallery and the Galerie Eigenheim, further strong partners could be won
to offer the artists* sufficient opportunities for the presentation and
broadcasting of their work.
We are very pleased to be able to start the call for applications in
January and hopefully welcome our first international guest for the
summer semester 2021. We hope that this residency will strengthen the
already successful cooperation between the Franz Liszt School of Music
and the Bauhaus University in Weimar, enrich the interdisciplinary
nature of teaching, and promote the internationalization of the
universities and the city.
The coordination of the Radio Art Residency Weimar will be done by
Lefteris Krysalis, international alumni of the Bauhaus-University Weimar
and the Hoschule für Musik Franz Liszt.

Gleich zu Beginn des neuen Jahres 2021 freut sich das Experimentelle
Radio der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar mit einem echten Knaller aufwarten
zu können.
Nach Beendigung der ersten Radio Art Residency in Halle, die das
Goethe-Institut dort zusammen mit Radio Corax in den letzten drei Jahren
etabliert hatte (https://www.radioart-residency.net), kann nun das
erfolgreiche Stipendienprogramm neu aufgesetzt werden. Als Kooperation
von Goethe Institut, Bauhaus-Universität und der Hochschule für Musik
Franz Liszt erlebt die Radio Art Residency in 2021 einen Neustart in Weimar.
Die Residency bietet zweimal im Jahr einen dreimonatigen Aufenthalt in
der Kulturstadt für Künstler*innen aus nicht-deutschsprachigen Ländern.
Die Stipendiaten sind eingeladen, während ihres Aufenthalts die Grenzen
der Klang- und Radiokunst auszuloten und in interdisziplinären
Konstellationen zu überschreiten, sich vom interkulturellen Dialog mit
Künstler*innen, Wissenschaftler*innen und Studierenden der
Bauhaus-Universität und der Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar,
sowie durch die Kultur- und Klassikstadt inspirieren zu lassen.
Durch die Zusammenarbeit mit Deutschlandfunk Kultur in Berlin, die einen
regelmäßigen Klangkunst-Sendeplatz bietet, der Thüringer
Landesmedienanstalt und den Weimarer Ausstellungsmöglichkeiten in der
ACC Galerie und der Galerie Eigenheim, konnten weitere starke Partner
gewonnen werden, um den Künstler*innen ausreichend Möglichkeiten für die
Präsentation und Ausstrahlung ihrer Arbeiten zu bieten.
Wir freuen uns sehr, dass wir im Januar mit der Ausschreibung beginnen
können und hoffentlich für das Sommersemester 2021 unseren ersten
internationalen Gast begrüßen dürfen. Wir hoffen, dass diese Residency
die bereits erfolgreiche Kooperation zwischen der Hochschule für Musik
Franz Liszt und der Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar stärken, die
Interdisziplinarität der Lehre bereichern und die Internationalisierung
der Hochschulen und der Stadt fördern wird.
Die Koordination der Radio Art Residency Weimar wird Lefteris Krysalis
übernehmen, internationaler Alumni der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar und
der HfM.
