“Vom Totalen und Sozialen: Architektur und Raumerfahrung in einer virtualisierten Welt” Ein Workshop zu künstlerischer Forschung an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, 19.-21. Juni 2023 Wie beeinflussen aktuelle Technologien der Simulation und Virtualität das körperliche Empfinden von Architektur? Wie verhalten sich Raumerfahrungen in physischen Architekturen der Vergangenheit zu Erfahrungen von Größe in digital generierten Räumen? In diesem dreitägigen Workshop werden wir uns mit diesen Fragen beschäftigen, mittels informellen Diskussionen und performativen künstlerischen Experimenten mit verschiedenen Virtual-Reality-bezogenen Technologien. Als Ausgangspunkt des Workshops dient eine phänomenologische Erkundung zweier politisch aufgeladener Gebäude der Hochschule für Musik und Theater München: das ehemalige TU-Gebäude in der Luisenstraße 37a, das von der Bauhaus-Architektur von Mies van der Rohe inspiriert wurde, sowie das ehemalige Hauptquartier von Adolf Hitler, der sogenannte "Führerbau", in der Arcisstraße 12. Der Workshop wird organisiert von der HMTM-Professur für Performance und Technologie in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Post Physical Sense Lab der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Es wird Beiträge geben von u.A. How do current technologies of simulation and virtuality affect the physical experience of architecture? How do experiences of space in physical architectures of the past relate to experiences of scale in digitally generated spaces? In this three-day workshop, we will explore these questions through informal discussions and performative artistic experiments with various virtual reality-related technologies. The starting point of the workshop will be a phenomenological exploration of two politically charged buildings at the University of Music and Theatre Munich: the former TU building at Luisenstraße 37a, inspired by the Bauhaus architecture of Mies van der Rohe, and the former headquarters of Adolf Hitler, the so-called "Führerbau", at Arcisstraße 12.
