Our conference program is steadily taking shape, and we are delighted to share some new info with you. Planning your arrival at our conference The conference begins with a gentle and inspiring “Day 0” on 2 September, offering participants the opportunity to arrive, settle in, and gradually immerse themselves in the atmosphere before the official opening on the following day. For those arriving earlier, we have prepared a series of convivial events on 2 September: * Opening of the conference participants’ sound installations and fixed-media works A central Day 0 event at the Mediencampus Dieburg will be the opening of the sound installations and fixed-media works created by conference participants. The exhibition will provide an opportunity to encounter the artistic contributions in an informal setting and engage in early conversations with fellow attendees. * Sound hike on “Der Hörweg” – The Listening Path One of the morning highlights will be a guided hike along Der Hörweg (“The Listening Path”), through the forests surrounding Dieburg. Along eleven listening stations, participants will discover the distinctive, rich, and often hidden acoustic identities of these places and experience them together in a shared act of attentive listening. https://www.owkdieburg.de/hoerweg/ * Visit to the International Forest Art Center, Darmstadt Another special excursion gives occasion to visit the International Forest Art Center in Darmstadt for a guided tour of two works selected by The Global Composition 2026: Listening with Songs of the Trees by Eric Leonardson (USA) and Sounding Earth by Bidisha Das. The visit offers a unique opportunity to explore artistic approaches to listening, environment, and sound in dialogue with the natural surroundings. All of these installations and artworks will remain accessible before, throughout, and after the conference, allowing ample time for exploration and reflection.
