Net-SNMP (Supported by Spectrum) has a "file" feature. I am not sure what it
does, but it could be something to take a look at i the Net-SNMP Doc's. Also
the agent has a "execute" script feature so that you can easily customize it
todo whatever by executing a script and if the script reports bad exitcode, it
can either snmptrap or change a "Error" attribute, which you could poll from
Spectrum continously. A nice thing there is also that if you get Error status,
you can also send requests to the agent to forexemple run a script with
specific parameters, which could solve the problem...

Does anyone know of a method for using spectrum or sysedge to monitor for the
presence of a file and alert whether it exists or not ?

Thanks.

Andy .
