Georges,

if you run discovery in CiscoWorks check also your snmp community list. Maybe
you have to make entries for router interface IP adresses.

But: I'm sure:
It's possible to get no authentication alarm from CiscoWorks. In 3 months or
earlier will you get new authentication alarms from CiscoWorks.
And in 6 Months or earlier you will be happy if there are not more then 10
such alarms per day.

Regards
Frank

Georges,

you can configure more than one community on a Cisco device. It will work with
Spectrum. It seems to be a Cisco Works Problem.

Did you change the community which is used by Cisco Works?
We had this problem after changing communities. We had to reinitialize Cisco
Works DFM Database.

Andreas

Subject: [spectrum] Spectrum and Ciscoworks

Hello Gurus,

We are using Spectrum to monitor Cisco routers.
On each router, we have two snmp communities set:

1-Read/Write also configured in the model in spectrum
2-Read only used in CiscoWorks

We are continuously getting an authentication alarm sourced from the CiscoWorks
host and we are sure that the CiscoWork Snmp community is set correctly on
ciscoworks.

It does not seem that I can configure two communities for the model in
spectrum...
Did anyone face this? Any ideas what would be causing this?

Best regards,
