Hello, As I know Spectrum doesn't use many threads and it's mostly single-threaded. So an 8-core machine cannot replace e.g. 4 dual core machines.
There is only a thread for the SpectroServer and one for the OneClickServer. So Spectrum doesn't use multiple parallel threads. On a multi core system some cores will only idle. If you want to virtualize the Spectro-/OneClickServers it's possible to use a big 8-core machine with e.g. 4 VMs. But for replacing 4 systems it's not recommend.
