To answer my own question ...

I have set up an event sequence that raises a new event if a contact
established event is followed by VLAN created event within 5 minutes.

I have setup the new event to clear the VLAN created alarm.

One unknown is whether this will work for multiple VLAN created events
coming in (which they will, one for each VLAN configured) ie will all
VLAN created alarms be cleared or will the sequence only work for the
first match? I would be grateful to hear from you if you have experience
of such an event combo.

TIA

Stephen.

Subject: [spectrum] Cisco VLAN Created Alarms

  Hi All

When a Cisco switch has "snmp-server enable traps vlancreate" configured
it will send a trap whenever a new VLAN is created - which is fine.

The issue is that when a switch reboots it issues these traps for all
the default and configured VLANs.

Does anyone know how I could use event combos to stop these alarms being
raised immediately after a reboot but retain the VLAN created alarms at
other times?

TIA

Stephen.
