Dear list,

This problem we noticed when discovering using eHealth, but the problem is
rather specific to the device to be monitored.

We have a very weird behavior at the customer site, I can't explain. The
customer has an "XP-8000 - Enterasys Networks Firmware Version:
E10.00.19.0004 PROM Version: prom-E3.2.0.0" sitting in his network.
Discovering/Polling this router using eHealth works fine, i.e. the SNMP
communities used by eHealth to perform these operations are the right
ones. I event used a network sniffer, but found no SNMP package using
another Community then the correct one.
The customer notices that the router sends out "authorization failure"
traps during every discovery of it. According to the router logs the only
device accessing the router using SNMP is eHealth and there is a strong
timely correlation between the discovery operation and the traps.

Is this a known phenomenon, you've already heard about? Could it be a
limitation at the router, e.g. the router doesn't like that many SNMP
requests in a short time.

Many thanks,
  Hilmar
