One thing you might check too is the spectrum admin page. I'm assuming OneClick - I'm currently running v8.1
Go to the Administration part and enter your SMTP server host, port, etc. (I haven't worked with spectrum very long - 'sorry if you've already done this part) As for running a script, I'm running on Solaris.
