Hello Berthold, list, read below the answer to your inquiries: - What devices are supported, or is there a list of supported devices?
Review Appendix A of the NCM manual - What happens, when a new device type will add to spectrum? nothing wil happen from the NCM point of view, you must add this new device as part of the NCM capture cycle (if it is supported) - Will it saved in the next saving cycle or must I configure something for doing this? you must configure the capture of the device - Does the configuration manager save all devices which are monitored by spectrum, or must I create a list of the devices which should be saved? no, not automatically, you must set up the capture's configuration parameters for the devices in the NCM module. - Where are the configurations saved? I mean are they in a file with the device name, or is the config saved in the database? as far as i know, the config files are stored in the database (SSDb) - How is the saving triggered on the network devices (by snmp, telnet or ssh)? Is triggered by SNMP commands sent from Spectrum to the Network Device, and transferred to Spectrum via TFTP To read more info about this module, the NCM manual is a good point of start. At the beginning (spectrum 7.1), when I was dealing with this module, many of the answers I found it, in the manual, and opening tickets with CA support. Hope it helps. Eng.
