yes this should work, but don't forget to install the right compat-libstdc!

download compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-47.3.i386.rpm
rpm -Uhv --oldpackage compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-47.3.i386.rpm

and run setup again...

we had tested this with rh as 5.2 and it worked fine for months.

But, why should somebody use am unsupported spectrum/boxi setup in an
productive environment?
