I can't get any info in Spectrum - I'm looking basically for a "dumb"
connector-like device (or group of devices).

I need to be able to represent the links between switch ports to CWDM
and between CWDMs.

This image might give an idea:

There won't be alarms, traffic stats, events coming from these devices -
they will be used just to connect "things" nothing more.

So far, I've been playing with WAN containers, WA_Segments, fanouts and
pingables in order to "model" CWDM ports. James Wiedel gave me an idea
to use a WAN Container and WA_Segment; I'm trying to implement it at the
moment.

Any idea about how to solve this issue is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Regards,

Eugen NAIMAN

Multiplexing (CWDM) in OneClick

How do you plan to get information into Spectrum?

Since we can't poll it with SNMP or ICMP, then I assume that there is
some type of management system for this that can forward information /
alarms. If that is the case then you can use the Southbound Gateway to
show those alarms and information.

A similar example - Cable power supplies, amplifiers, transponders that
have not IP address but talk to a management station. That management
station generates alarms to Spectrum so that we can parse out the
information and create "eventModel" models to represent these
nonpollable components.

Subject: [spectrum] Modelling a passive Coarse Wavelength Division
Multiplexing (CWDM) in OneClick

Hello,

I've been wondering if anyone has (somehow) modelled/represented this
type of device in OneClick.

http://www.ghipsystems.com/en/Products/CWDM51xx-en/CWDM51xx-en.html

I know that it's a passive device so there can't be any SNMP/ICMP or
other access. What I'm looking for it's a visual representation.
Is there any multiplexer model in Spectrum?

Thank you,

Regards,
Eugen NAIMAN
