if this could be considered a problem it's most likely an enterasys one.

If we get such alarms ("Infinite loop detected") we first try to
restart the snmp agent on the device - sometimes a restart must be
initiated to get this done. In some cases this does not provide a
solution and the alarms occurres again.
In this case we open a case with the device's vendor as something with
the snmp implementation seems to be wrong.
