If anybody will poll the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.546.14.16.0, the script will be executed and the script return value will given as snmp-response. You can monitor this OID with a SpectroWatch or using the self monitoring capability of the SystemEDGE (2nd statement) to let the SystemEDGE send a Trap. You have to write a script, which takes the date and time and check the entries in the logfile. If the time is 3:00 and the entry was not written, the script should return a error or something. If the OID will read and error appears, an alarm should be generate. Hope this helps.
