Hi Barry, We are running our OneClick servers on Win 2k3 VMWare guests and have done so for quite some time. Performance has been acceptable for us. You'll want to size your OneClick VMs with enough memory to run your Tomcat process without swapping. We are using a single cpu VM with 1.5 GB of memory. Tomcat occupies around 500 mb of memory on our systems. You can base all of this on your current OneClick installation. You can also run them in parallel; keep your physical OneClick running and then add the VM as an additional OneClick server and do some comparison testing. Our Spectrum servers are not virtualized. We run them on physical Sun Solaris boxes. The failovers, however, are virtual and run on Solaris Zones. Hope that helps.

Are you experiencing performance issues and loss of connection between Spectrum and OneClick? Do you have any guide lines with regards to VM sizing (CPU, Memory, etc.) and limit to the number of active guests on the Spectrum ESX host? Would anyone recommend moving Spectrum and OneClick off of VM and onto separate blade servers running either Windows or Linux or Solaris? Any information would be appreciated.
