Did you "Map" the traps in the MIB Browser, if that is what you used to import the MIB?
If not you should see a tab in the top right that says "Map" if you click on that you should be able to map those traps to event codes etc, it creates the AlertMap and EventDisp for you and distributes it to all landscapes if you choose. I would recommend reading the manual on this since there is definitely a lot more to it when you want to customize the defaults that you import from the MIB. The manual number for 9.1.x is 5188 and I believe it is the same in 8.1 except there is no oneClick event configuration gui in 8.1, but there have been issues with the event configuration gui in previous posts to this list which is why we like to edit the alertmaps and eventdisps directly. So, I used a Unix Machine for send traps to Spectrum. I imported the MIB in Spectrum, but, when I send traps from the server to Spectrum, the events are received as Unknown alert, and events created not work... No alarms... Remote server is a RedHat Linux. Here is the MIB that I created: ----------- TEST-SNMP-TRAPMIB DEFINITIONS ::= BEGIN IMPORTS NOTIFICATION-TYPE,ucdavis FROM UCD-SNMP-MIB; testTrap OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::= { ucdavis 1000 } -- -- Warnings -- warningTest OBJECT-TYPE SYNTAX DisplayString (SIZE (0..255)) MAX-ACCESS read-write STATUS current DESCRIPTION "Warnings" ::= { warningsTrap 1 } -- -- warning Traps -- warningTestTrap NOTIFICATION-TYPE OBJECTS { warningTest } STATUS current DESCRIPTION "Warning traps ." ::= { procergsTrap 2 } END ----------------- Any HELP is welcome!!!! Ps.: Excuse for some errors... My english is not so good ;) Thanks Cristiano Pereira --To unsubscribe from spectrum, send email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe spectrum [email protected] -------------------------------------------------------- The information transmitted in this email and any of its attachments is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain information concerning Cablevision and/or its affiliates and subsidiaries that is proprietary, privileged, confidential and/or subject to copyright.
