We use the Change Model Class & Lock Model class frequently to address a
couple of requirements. It works well and does not impact the way the
device is monitored . . . at least according to CA Support. We change
the Model Class only not the device type or model type, we also lock
that Model Class field so a reconfiguration doesn't change it back on
us. It is a manual process, but we have that as part of our discovery &
modeling instructions.

We use this across the board on all firewall devices our Information
Security group is responsible for many of these devices do not discover
as a firewall Model Class.

Thanks

Subject: [spectrum] CiscoASA55xx and CiscoIPS "firewall" icons

Hi,

We are trying to add Cisco ASA55xx series firewalls to Spectrum, the
device is acting normally in terms of fault management. The problem is
that we are monitoring many Cisco routers on Spectrum, is there a way to
display a firewall icon for CiscoASA instead of the router icon?

Note: we tried changing the model class but unfortunately we lost
visibility to some of the firewalls' functionalities.

Any help or documentation on this item is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Alex Koueik
