Wow, that's good to know. You might want to put that out there for the
group to know.

We have completed some testing of our own and come to find that it is an
IOS issue. NCM cant handle cisco IOS of 12.2.50 and Higher. I even tried
the same device on my spectrum 9.2 h01 SpectroServer, and got the same
results. I am hoping that the support will catch up in 92.sp1.

I don't know, both of these 3750's have plenty of free memory. One of
them said last reset from power on and the other said last reset from
address error. I would investigate that one. Are you managing the
switches via SNMP ver1, ver2 or ver3?

Can you send me the information for the 2960 and the 3560?

Send me a "sh ver" and a "dir" from a 3560 and a "dir" and a "sh ver"
and "dir all-filesystems" from a 3750 . I think it's a memory issue with
them as well. I'm running Spectrum 9.2 and our IOS gold version isn't
much new then yours. But I didn't have any issues when we were running
Spectrum 9.1 and older IOS version.

What IOS version are you guys running and what's your memory on them.
We run 2960's and we've never had that problem. Also what version of
Spectrum are you running?

What type of Cisco device and how much memory does it have. We had an
issue with older Cisco 2924's and 2950's with low memory would
experience high CPU utilization to the point they would be unreachable
and locked up. They would still pass data, but we would have to reboot
them to regain access to them, but no I've never seen a Cisco device
reload after a NCM push.

Subject: [spectrum] cisco ncm causes reboots

Hi All,

We have noticed when using NCM on some Cisco Devices, when you tftp push
the config back to the devices with changes and select "also save to
startup". It will cause the switch/router to reboot itself. Is this
normal behavior? Is there a way to allow the write to startup, without
the reboot occurring?

TIA
