Reading my email again it looks a bit confused. Sorry! My doubt is determining the root-cause alarm of a suppressed event, as explained bellow.
Supposing I have a access Router (R1) connected to a switch (S1) and R1 became unavailable, there will be only one alarm for R1. S1 will generate only an event and it will receive a root cause of R1 (while it happens, we can see it on "root cause" tab of oneclick). The fact is the availability will be decreased on S1 on the same amount of R1. Unhappily, the report manager (RPM) won't show this dependency relation on its reports. I've tried to look in the table alarm and event (ddmdb). For S1, It show only the suppressed event, without further information. Off course it's is a small example, but in real networks there are many dependencies between models, becoming complex justify the unavailabilities. I hope it's clearer now!
