It sounds as if the "SDNotifier" got associated with the default rule and the
"AlarmNotifier" lost contact with the Spectroserver.
However the first should not happen on its own and the second should recover.
Both happen at the same time - sounds unlikely.
However - as you deleted everything and recreated it, it is hard to tell now.

If it happens again:

- if a Notifier processes all Alarms check vie the locator search SANM >
All Applications if it is still associated with the Policy you intended (and
not with the Default Policy)

- if a Notifier stops processing Alarms check if it is still running and
if so check the OUT file if there was a disconnect.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Joern

Betreff: [spectrum] SANM configuration problem

Hi Spectrum Group

I have a little problem with SANM. I have a policy called "Horario_Diurno"
associated to two applications AlarmNotifier y SDNotifier, the first one is
used to notify by Email to our technicians and the second one is used to
generate a ticket in CA Service Desk

In the policy I included some rules tahat request to much some criterias such
us: condition (only red, orange, and yellow alarms), list of devices name
(devices that I want to generated alarms) and alarm age alarm (set to 5
minutes).

This configuration was working very well but the last weeks all the alarms
generate a Service Desk ticket ussing the SDNotifier application and does not
validate the rules and criterias included in the policy, for example, it start
to create alarms at the moment that was generated (they does not wait until the
alarm age become 5 minutes), additionally it does not control the alarms for my
device list (every alarm generate a Service Desk Ticket). Finally, the other
application AlarmNotifier does not send an Email for the alarms that match the
rules for age, name and condition.

In summary the SDNotifier notify all the alarm and the AlarmNotifier stop to
notifying.

In order to solve the problem I had rebooted the Spectrum server, after that I
had erased the policy and applications and regenerated all the configuration
but the problem persist, If anyone has an idea how can I fix that issue, are
welcome.

Victor Barrionuevo
