On Windows, you can stop the SPECTRUM Process Daemon from the command line:

C:\> net stop processd

Yes, this will stop any alarm notifier, NCM daemon, MySQL, and any other
processes that ProcessD is managing...

but since they all interact with the SpectroServer or Archive Manager anyway,
perhaps that’s not such a big deal.

That decision is up to each Spectrum administrator to make on their own.

You can restart all processes in a similar manner:

C:\> net start processd

Note that this WILL NOT restart the SpectroServer or Archive Manager
automatically UNLESS your ticket files are re-configured to do that, which is
not the default behavior.

CA DOES NOT recommend setting SS.idb and ARCHMGR.idb for AUTOBOOTSTART;Y;,

but it is possible to run this way, with GREAT care.

If not, use Lalit’s original solution to start SS and ARCHMGR.

Also, you should set the following key in the Windows registry to delay Windows
from killing services before they self-terminate from failing to respond to a
STOP request at shutdown/reboot:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control

Add/edit the REG_SZ value below to set the timeout to 600,000 milliseconds (10
minutes) (or some value that makes sense for your server):

WaitToKillServiceTimeout REG_SZ 600000

        That’s very strange!

It is not present on my production, QA or DR environment. They are all
fresh install not reinstalled.

I have to check with CA support for this.

Can others on spectrum 9.2 environment confirm the availability of
these perl scripts?

I think we just did. Strange they're not present on Windows though.

Yes they are. I've done at least 10 installs within the past 3 months and
they're there in all of them. The only time you won't see them is if you're
installing to a Windows environment. If you're installing to Linux or Solaris
host though they should be in $SPECROOT/bin.
