Syslog messages and SNMP traps are not held for future delivery. You can try
using SNMP inform messages, if your router supports. It is a best practice
to have more than one logical and physical path between your NMS and the
monitored elements whenever feasible, so that a simple path disruption does
not cut off your ability to manage and remediate.
