We have NetCool/OmniBus polling our primary Spectro server and feeding the high/critical alarms into our ticketing system. The component that joins Spectrum and NetCool was engineered by IBM (something they provide with the product). All we had to do on the Spectrum side was to create an account for the probe and add the probe server to the hostrc file. Very simple.
My question, for anyone else out there who is running this, is what happens during a failure in a warm fault tolerant environment? Should there be a probe polling both the primary and secondary server? Where is this alarm table that is likely being polled? Is it held by the Spectro process or the archive manager process? -Ken --- To unsubscribe from spectrum, send email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe spectrum [email protected]
