I have had similar problems with copying and editing watches in 9.2.1 on Linux,
and I have found a few things that help. When copying, I have had more success

to copy rather than using the copy button. When editing, I have found that
making sure there are spaces between parenthesis and anything else - like REAL
( ATTRIBUTE ) rather than REAL(ATTRIBUTE).
