When I did this, I found it was easiest to rediscover the devices into the new DSS, and used the opportunity to redesign our container hierarchy/policy, our user-group policy and bring in the newest version of MIBs. While it was a lot of work, it meant we got rid of a *LOT* of cruft. The opportunities yielded from a green-field build justified the extra effort.

Actually we have one SpectroServer and two OneClicks (9.1) and we are reaching the top of devices allowed for one server. We have considering go to the DSS in near future. But all guides about installation a DSS environment does not give any detail about the process to migrate the actual database from one SS to DSS. I remember when we reinstalled the Spectrum for change the server machine, first we had to create a directory and then copy our "db_spectrum.ssdb" and finally run the installation. Does it necessary to copy the same database in both SpectroServers? How can I distribute network devices management between the two Servers after they have the same database? Thanks for your great help, Saludos, Susana --- To unsubscribe from spectrum, send email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe spectrum [email protected] --- To unsubscribe from spectrum, send email to [email protected] with the body: unsubscribe spectrum [email protected]
