You have several options.

1 – Kick the vendor into giving you the mib.
2 – Demand the mib from the vendor
3 – Leave the vendor and go elsewhere if they refuse to give you a mib.

You really need to the mib to understand what the object id is to poll and
formats of variables.

4 – If you know the Object ID, variable type. You could create your own mib
file that you could use to import through MibTools
5 – Technically you could use MTE (Model Type Editor) to create a variable.
However, if you are not familiar with MTE, you don’t want to go this route,
because you could destroy your catalog. If you do, always make sure to back up
the catalog before starting.

Subject: [spectrum] Create new attribute

Hi all,
My mission is to poll SNMP OID every 5 minutes and generate an alarm if thold
cross X.
I think the best way to implement is to create an attribute and then attach a
watch to it.

How can I create new attributes from scratch since I don’t have a relevant mib
file.

Best Regards, Amitay.
