You can move a device only if you want to move it to a different container on the same landscape. If you want to move it to a container on a different landscape then you must delete and rediscover.
To move a device to a different container on the same landscape you just destroy the existing association between the device and its existing container and create a new association between the device and its new container. # Destroy the existing association (-n does not prompt you to destroy. I use this when running in a script) destroy association -n rel=Collects lmh=<existingContainerMH> rmh=<deviceMH> # Create a Collects association to place the device into the destination container create association rel=Collects lmh=<destinationContainerMH> rmh=<deviceMH> where: <deviceMH> is the model handle of the device you want to move <existingContainerMH> is the model handle of the existing container (the one the device is currently in) <destinationContainerMH> is the model handle of the destination container (the one you want to move the device to) Hope that helps.
