First off: Whilst you currently can install the Systemedge and VC AIM on the VCentre, from 9.4 HF1 upwards this isn't a supported configuration. You'll need a third server to act as your "AIM" box and install systemedge and VC AIM on there if you don't want a big red "UNSUPPORTED AIM CONFIGURATION" type alarm in OneClick.
Once you've done that you need to go to: C:\Program Files\CA\SystemEdge\Plugins\AIPCommon And in there look for nodecfgutil.exe Run that and enter the VCenter details - it must be accessible via HTTPS from that AIM server. From SystemEdge 12.8 and the associated AIM upwards you can now have more than one VCenter per AIM as well - in older setups you needed one server per AIM. Very unwieldy with large installations. Then discover the AIM server in Spectrum and the Virtual Host Manager should populate. https://supportcontent.ca.com/cadocs/0/CA%20Server%20Automation%2012%207%20SP01-ENU/Bookshelf_Files/HTML/UIHelp/index.htm?toc.htm?configure_aims_command_mode.html Dave David K. Hi all. We are trying to get one esxi host with several vm´s on it including the vcenterserver modeled as a virtual host in the Virtual Host Manager. On the vcenterserver ( running on Windows Server 2008) we have installed the system edge agent. We have also followed the steps in the CA Spectrum Virtual Host Manager Solution, without any luck. I am able to get the vcenterserver with the system edge agent to be modelled in ca spectrum, but it never shows up in the "virtual host manager» Do I also have to model the esxi host in spectrum? Any suggestions?
