I back up both F5s and Palo Altos for a customer, however F5 configs aren't
NCM-compatible (they're a hideous binary file) and Palo Alto configs are HUGE!
The ones I tried to download into Spectrum actually blew the limit on the
number of lines for the "diff" command to work when doing config comparisons.
The F5 scripts I use are also used outside of Spectrum as you have to set up a
backup schedule on the F5 itself then use a script to SCP or FTP the config
back to a central repository (in our case D:\Backups on the Spectrum server,
but it could theoretically be anywhere.)

I have some scripts and batch files I can share with the group later on (I'm
actually procrastinating in a meeting right now!) but I strongly advise you do
what we've done and script the config collections outside of Spectrum for these
two particular devices.

Regards

Dave

Subject: [spectrum] NCM for F5 and/or Palo Alto

Just curious is anyone has gotten NCM to successfully pull configs from Palo
Alto Firewalls or F5 appliances? If so could you share a basic script or
instruction of how you got them to work?
