Out of interest Patrick,

What version of Spectrum are you running? I have 10.1 in our test lab managing
a WLC and its associated APs and not only does it model the APs (both LWAP and
“regular”,) it alarms on those AP models rather than the WLC when various traps
come in so I know exactly which one’s affected.

If you’re not on 10.1, I strongly urge you to upgrade for the WLC capability
alone.

Regards

Dave

Subject: [spectrum] AW: Managing Cisco Airspace devices

Hi Patrick, list,

the trap contains another (sometimes undocumented) parameter that might help:
bsnApName
This is not included with the default Spectrum configuration but can be added
easily. You could check out https://communities.ca.com/thread/107045409

Betreff: [spectrum] Managing Cisco Airspace devices

Hi All,
We have started to monitor the Cisco WLAN environment which utilizes the
Airspace MIB in the Spectrum CsVendor directory. I enabled the eventID 4b60007
(LRAD Disassociation) alert as a minor alarm. It does a good job of alerting
when an AP loses contact. However, the only information provided by the Alarm
is the bsnAPMacAddrTrapVariable which is the AP’s Wireless mac address. The
problem is, the alert does not provide the Physical mac address of the AP
which is the only piece of information which can be correlated in the Cisco PI
application. Has anyone else encountered this, and can you share what have you
done to work around this?

Thanks in advance
Patrick Murtey
