Hello,
I want to do research on Automobile Smart Cruise Control design. A Smart
Cruise Control at its most basic level is a system that integrates forward
looking radar into a traditional Cruise Control. The forward looking radar
is used to detect cars in front and then speed is regulated to follow the
car at a preset distance (1 car length, 2 car lengths, etc.). I am
interested in designing the algorithms and controlling PIDs to regulate the
car's speed and to integrate the forward looking radar range into this PID
design.

I was wondering if I could use Speed Dreams as a research testbed to
generate a simulation environment that my Cruise Control PID could operate
within. I would need to be able to received speed information for the car
I am controlling as well distance information for surrounding cars. I
would also need to be able to control the throttle and brakes for the car I
am controlling. Is this possible with Speed Dreams?
