I think most people are answering if the scramble is lucky, and not if the solve is lucky which is what Joël asked. Of course there is a different way to solve it. If you knew God's Algorithm, you would solve every scramble in a lot less moves. If you take his scramble and apply a different method to the solution, you will get a different result. This is changing the solve portion. I think, given the scramble and Joël's solution, I agree with Chris H. It is not lucky as he didn't skip an OLL or PLL by chance; he skipped one CE pair because he knew what to do to preserve it. Someone that didn't do the cross that way may not have saved the CE pair and thus, resulted in a longer solution. What was the time, Joël?
