Hey Per,

I've noticed that I can get a "feel" for whether white is good or bad.

Basically I've been solving white for years so my strategy for a while
(which I'm trying to change) is to examine white first. If white is
"bad" I then examine yellow.

What I've been working on lately is taking a quick scan of both sides
(1-2 seconds) and seeing a) are there any blocks for an Xcross and b)
is this color "good" or "bad"?

I then always choose the best cross or if I see a block or two with a
promising setup for an Xcross on either color I choose that one.

I've actually been training myself for a while to not use the full
inspection time, so that in a competition 15 seconds will seem like a
LOT. I try to always inspect and put the cube down in 6-7 seconds or
less. So now when I use all 15 it's like 2 inspections for me, and is
enough time to look at both white and yellow.

Basically if you get yourself used to inspecting very quickly, then 15
seconds will actually feel like a lot, and you can definitely inspect
two colors during that time. But again that takes practice to get
used to inspecting in 6-7 every time.

Chris
