I asked Stefan about this a while ago, and here is his answer:

"But for the 3x3 it's better to take the cube apart. Hold yellow and
blue on top and front (in your case, Gilles, is white and red...). Now imagine
you take out the block of five pieces UF+UFL+UFR+U+F, rotate it 180 degrees and
put it back in. Also, swap UL<->FL and UR<->FR, this can be done easily with
algorithm (L2 S' E' L E L2 S L').
After you do all this, only 8 stickers will be on wrong sides: 3
yellow, 3
blue, 1 red, 1 orange.*"

*For you, I think is 3 white, 3 red, 1 blue and 1 green...

  Good luck!

  Pedro

  Hello,

I'm going to change one of my cube color scheme, but in order to save
some stickers, I would like to do a maximum by just changing the
position of some pieces.

I'd like to swap the 2 adjacent colors (white and red in my case) to
get back to a "normal" color scheme (yes I'm changing my stupid color
scheme I came up with at the WC :p)

At the moment the number of stickers I have to change is 10 (instead of 18).
I flipped manually one edge and swaped 2 corners (manually too) + I
permuted 4 edges with algorithms.

Is there a smaller number of stickers to change the color scheme ? or
is it already the maximum ?

Thx, Gilles.
