Hey Jason, I do use COLL when solving a yellow cross if the case is a fast one (or if I'm doing ZB stuff).
It was very, very weird to get used to at first, but with some practice you do get used to seeing the CLL/COLL case on your opposite color. Again, everything about switching to also using your opposite color feels quite strange at first, but if you stick with it, you'll find that it really isn't all that different from solving your regular color. This may be a different case with the Roux method though, since you also have to take the centers into account and those would change orders too. As far as just CLL and COLL go though I can definitely say that over time you do get used to it, but it takes some adjusting. Hope this helps. Don't give up on opposite color just yet! Try it for a bit and see if the CLL gets better. Again I don't know if having to also worry about the changing of the centers orders makes it even harder for Roux method, but so far all the initial difficulties I've had from solving my opposite color I've now gotten over.
