I guess that "faster in z" was a stretch what i mean is that with the cross on the L side, I think that F2L algs are easier. U'(R2U)(RU'R'U) is just one example.
I would do its mirror with the cross on bottom though (RU2R'U')(RUR') Basically, i do all [L U] algs as z [R U].
