Yup. I bought a Megaminx yesterday from Mefferts and know exactly what you're talking about. I first tried with credit card and somewhere in all the redirects I got to a big error screen. I backed out and clicked "Pay by PayPal" and it went very smoothly.
Here's to hoping I don't get charged twice...
