this are all the optins of the normal (unix) pppd that are disabled for pppoa:

    "noaccomp", "-ac",
    "default-asyncmap", "-am", "asyncmap", "-as", "escape",
    "receive-all",
    "crtscts", "-crtscts", "nocrtscts",
    "cdtrcts", "nocdtrcts",
    "xonxoff",
    "modem", "local", "sync",

these are mostly related to serial line stuff.
