I have installed the speedtouch-adsl using the faq from Ed Gomez on my Mandrake 8 system. I did however not recompile the kernel. Everything seems to work fine except for one thing. After I kill pppd and give a halt my system hangs failing to umount cleanly my linux partition, this problem is definitely related to the use of the speedtouch software as I don't have unclean umounts when I don't use the speedtouch.
